Founders

The Walter and Duncan Gordon Foundation was established in 1965 by Walter Gordon, his wife, Elizabeth (née Counsell), and his brother, Duncan Gordon.

Both Walter and Duncan Lockhart Gordon were chartered accountants and senior partners at Clarkson, Gordon & Co., Chartered Accountants, and at Woods, Gordon & Co., Management Consultants.

In 1987, following the deaths of Walter and Duncan Gordon (who died within eight months of each other), the next generation of Gordon family members became more actively involved in the affairs of the Foundation. The most active of these have been Walter Gordon’s children—Jane Glassco, Kyra Montagu and John Gordon.
