Kalson Abdi
Manager, Grants and Information
Kalson joined the Walter & Duncan Gordon Foundation in April, 2009. Her role at the Foundation includes coordinating the Foundation's communications via its website, e-newsletters and annual reports; managing the grants administration systems and procedures; managing the Elizabeth L. Gordon Art Program; and working as a collaborative member of the program team.
Kalson brings to the Foundation a range of relevant experience from her previous positions at RBC Foundation, Maytree Foundation and Zenn Motor Company. She holds a B.A. in Public Administration and Governance from Ryerson University, where her research focused on Canadian public sector modernization.
Kalson's volunteer commitment have included serving on a number of boards and is currently a board member at Yorktown Family Services a non-profit social services agency dedicated to helping children, youth, women and families in the former City of York. Kalson also served as a mentor to new immigrants and students with disabilities at the Ryerson University Tri-Mentoring Peer Program.
